Country Boy Produce offers wholesale tomatoes to grocers and produce stand owners in Raleigh, North Carolina and Fort Myers, Florida. Because of our relationships with growers from Florida to North Carolina, we can ship fresh tomatoes from January through October.
Vine-Ripe Tomatoes
Country Boy Produce specializes in Vine-Ripe tomatoes, we start picking tomatoes in our fields in Punta Gorda, Florida around first of January. We usually have 4-5 plantings in the area so we can pick January- April. Next, we head to our partner farm in Ruskin, Florida area for second half April – June.
Then, we head to north Florida where we can start having field packed tomatoes. We start in Quincy area for two weeks, then we jump to SC around June 15-20. We generally pick and pack here from mid June- July 15.
Finally, we leave SC for NC mountains, where we have couple smaller farmers that pick and pack vine-ripe for us weekly until late September/ early October when first frost happens. Then time to pack up and head back to north Florida (Quincy area) for a month, then back to south Florida for rest of year.
